The Woodman in Woodmansterne is making history this month by hosting the Surrey village’s first ever official real ale festival.
The event takes place from May 23-25 and has plenty on offer beer buffs.
The pub, which is owned and operated by the award-winning Stonegate Pub Company, is celebrating locally brewed ales and craft beers from Surrey and the neighbouring counties of Sussex and Kent.
The popular pub is situated right opposite Woodmansterne Park Recreation Ground, and has an excellent beer garden.
Graham Reed, general manager, cannot wait: “We are proud to invite old and new real ale enthusiasts, families and festival lovers to celebrate from 7pm until late each evening of the festival.
“We are supporting local brewers and offering the opportunity for everyone to taste something new.”
The free family fun weekend champions six local breweries, each of which exhibit two of their finest ales.
Guest breweries include:
- Surrey Hills Brewery
- King Beer
- Clarence and Fredericks
- Westerham Brewery Company
- Dorking Brewery
Two mystery ales will be unveiled at the festival and will join the line up at the bar, all profits will be donated to a childrens’ charity.
Live music, a BBQ and lashings of real ale will fuel what promises to be a memorable weekend.
Greene King is sponsoring the festival and are proud supporters of local produce.
The family focused Sunday event, will see the bouncy castle and sandpit set up in the pub’s extensive beer garden.
Hundreds are expected to turn out throughout the weekend, to ensure that you get to taste all of the ales, be sure to arrive early.
CAMRA supports the festival and all members are invited to come down.
